We love Filipa's approach to fashion and style where she boldly and eclectically reinvents the classics. It's no surprise that her favorite quote comes from the magnificent Iris Apfel, "More is more and less is a bore." Filipa's Instagram @dissectingthelook evokes her cool aesthetics and her blog Dissecting The Look provides interesting insights on fashion trends, art, and design. Filipa has lived in Lisbon all of her life and is now a law student in this unique and culturally-rich city. Summer vacations may have passed, but at Windsor Avenue, we're always ready to get transported to a new locale, even if it's only for a few minutes. So..... let's escape to Lisbon and tour Filipa's favorite spots.
Filipa's Top 5 Spots in Lisbon
1. A Outra Face da Lua
It's a boutique located in Lisbon's downtown where you can find the most amazing vintage clothes, shoes and accessories. It is also a cafe with great food, perfect to have lunch or just grab a snack with friends. Definitely my favorite place for vintage shopping.
2. Bar Entretanto
Lisbon has many rooftop bars and restaurants with stunning views. This one is on the 7th floor of a hotel (Hotel do Chiado) and has one of the best panoramic views over the city. You can see Sao Jorge castle, Lisbon Cathedral and Tagus River.
3. Museu do Chiado (National Museum of Contemporary Art)
I'm a big Art enthusiast and this museum is definitely one of my favorites. It's also located in Lisbon's downtown and its collection includes some of the biggest names of our culture such as Amadeo de Souza-Cardoso and Bordallo Pinheiro. I like to come here to search for inspiration and relax.
4. Miradouro de Santa Catarina
Lisbon has many viewpoints but this one is one of my favorites. A different yet equally stunning river view (you can even see one of the bridges). It's perfect to chill with friends on the grass, the environment is super cozy and there is always someone playing music or singing. Nothing will make you feel more welcome.
Located right in front of Miradouro de Santa Catarina, it's a restaurant/bar where drinks have medicine names and it's decorated with old pharmany objects.Though the inside is very beautiful and picturesque, the outside is definitely my favorite place to stay, especially during hot summer days while drinking a cold lemonade.
